Production Batch
The Production Batch object represents a manufacturing order used to produce a finished product based on a predefined Bill of Material (BOM). It groups all production-related information, including the finished product, manufacturing date, legal entity, production status, quality control status, and associated Production Batch Lines.
Each Production Batch tracks the complete lifecycle of a manufacturing process—from planning and production to quality inspection and completion

Example Business Scenario
Scenario: Creating a Production Batch for Sedan Car Manufacturing
ABC Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. manufactures Sedan Cars. Before starting production, the production manager opens the Sedan Car Product record and navigates to the Production Batch Editor tab.
The production manager creates a new Production Batch with the following details:
- Production Batch Name: PB-2026-0001
- Product: Sedan Car (Automatically populated)
- Legal Entity: Gateway Entity LLC
- Date: 10-Jul-2026
- Manufactured Date: 15-Jul-2026
- Status: Planned
- Quality Control Status: Pending
- Notes: Initial production batch for Sedan Car.
The Production Batch Editor automatically displays the associated Stock Item (Maruti Dzire). The user enters the Actual Quantity Produced and proceeds to the next step to complete the production process.
System Behaviour :
- The Product is automatically associated with the Production Batch.
- Related Stock Items are displayed in the Production Batch Editor.
- Production Batch information is captured before manufacturing begins.
- The system creates a Production Batch and related Production Batch Lines.
- Manufacturing progresses based on the selected Status.
- Quality Control Status tracks the inspection result before production completion.
Outcome:
- A Production Batch is successfully created for the Sedan Car.
- Production is organized and traceable.
- Finished goods are produced against the selected Product.
- Manufacturing history is maintained for reporting and auditing.
