Order Product

The Order Product object represents an individual product or service line within a customer Order. Each Order Product stores information such as the selected Product, Stock Item, quantity, pricing, Unit of Measure (UOM), inventory details, and fulfillment status.

An Order can contain multiple Order Products, enabling businesses to manage inventory allocation, product fulfillment, delivery, returns, and inventory tracking for each line item independently.

Why is it Used?

The Order Product object is used to:

Example Business Scenario

Scenario: Customer Orders Sedan Car

ABC Manufacturing receives a confirmed customer Order for 10 Sedan Cars.

An Order Product is created with the following details:

  • Order: ORD-2026-0001
  • Product: Sedan Car
  • Stock Item: Maruti Dzire
  • Quantity: 10
  • Sales UOM: Each
  • Inventory UOM: Each
  • Unit Price: ₹9,50,000
  • Conversion Factor: 1

After the Order Product is saved:

  • Inventory is evaluated.
  • Matching Stock Item is assigned.
  • Inventory is allocated.
  • Reserved quantity is updated.
  • The warehouse fulfills the order.
  • Delivery quantities are updated after shipment.

System Behaviour :

  • Product pricing is inherited from the Price Book.
  • Inventory allocation reserves available stock.
  • Warehouse uses the Stock Item for fulfillment.
  • Inventory Transactions update stock quantities.
  • Delivery and fulfillment quantities are automatically updated.
