
Inventory Allocation Creation Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Order
Open the required Order record.
Navigate to the Inventory Allocation tab.
Step 2: Create Inventory Allocation
Click the New Allocation action for the required Order Product.
Select an available Inventory record, then click Reserve or Commit.
Step 3: Enter Quantity to Commit
Provide the required details:
- Select the Inventory Transaction
- Enter the Quantity to Commit
Step 4: Save the Inventory Allocation
Click Commit to create the Inventory Allocation.
Best Practices
- Allocate inventory only after verifying available stock.
- Select the correct Warehouse and Inventory Location before saving.
- Reserve only the required quantity to avoid blocking inventory unnecessarily.
- Configure an Inventory Reserved Expiry Date for temporary reservations.
- Release unused allocations promptly to improve inventory availability.
- Monitor allocation statuses regularly.
- Ensure Inventory Transactions are generated for complete traceability.
- Validate allocated quantities before fulfillment.
- Keep Product and Stock Item associations accurate.
- Periodically review Inventory Allocation records to maintain inventory accuracy and optimize warehouse operations.
