Template Section
The Template Section is the core workspace of the Document Generation process, allowing users to design and structure the dynamic content of their documents. It serves as the foundation for customizing how data from Salesforce objects appears in generated documents. Each template section can be configured with specific layouts, styles, and data sources to meet business needs.
The Template Section supports three main section types:
- Content – Used to add rich, formatted text, images, and dynamic fields from the target Salesforce object (such as Opportunity or Account).
- Related List – Displays related child records (e.g., Opportunity Products or Quote Line Items) in a structured table or custom layout, with advanced customization options for filtering, styling, and formatting.
- Canvas – Provides an interactive, drag-and-drop design area where users can freely position fields, images, and other elements to create visually appealing, flexible document layouts.
Each section type is designed to give users full creative control — from inserting merge fields and global variables to configuring layouts, borders, colors, and data filters — ensuring that every document generated aligns with organizational standards and presentation goals.
