Volume Price
The Volume Price object is designed to support tiered or volume-based pricing in Cloudy Business Ops 360. It allows businesses to define different selling prices based on purchase quantity ranges, vendor-specific prices, and tax inclusions.
This enables organizations to create dynamic pricing models that reward higher purchase quantities with lower per-unit prices, ensuring competitive pricing strategies and improved sales performance.
Use of Volume Price in Cloudy Business Ops 360
The Volume Price object plays a critical role in:
- Managing Tiered Pricing: Create multiple price ranges (start and end quantities) for each product or item variant.
- Automating Price Selection: System automatically selects the correct price based on the ordered quantity.
- Integrating with Price Lists: Supports multiple price lists (e.g., Retail, Wholesale, B2B) for flexible sales operations.
- Vendor-Specific Pricing: Maintain vendor purchase prices and tax details for accurate margin calculation.
- Tax Inclusion Handling: Clearly define whether selling or vendor prices already include applicable tax.
Checkbox Functionality
Checkbox Field | Purpose |
Tax Included in Price? | Indicates whether the Sell Price already includes tax. When checked, the system will not add tax separately during calculation. |
Vendor Tax Included in Price? | Indicates whether the Purchase Price already includes vendor tax. This ensures accurate margin calculations and prevents duplicate tax applications. |
Example Business Scenario
Scenario:
Your company sells Product A with the following pricing tiers:
Start Quantity | End Quantity | Sell Price | Tax Included in Price? |
1 | 10 | $50.00 | ✅ |
11 | 50 | $48.00 | ✅ |
51 | 100 | $45.00 | ✅ |
Outcome:
If a customer orders 30 units, the system automatically applies $48.00 per unit as the sell price (since it falls in the 11–50 quantity range) and does not add additional tax because the Tax Included in Price? checkbox is selected.
