Use of Inventory Adjustment in Cloudy Business Ops 360

Inventory Adjustment plays an important role in Inventory Control and Audit Processes:

  • Stock Corrections – Fix discrepancies between system quantity and actual physical stock.
  • Damage/Breakage Tracking – Record damaged goods separately while keeping available quantities accurate.
  • Cycle Counting – Update system inventory after periodic stock counts.
  • Shrinkage/Theft Adjustments – Reflect stolen or missing stock to maintain accurate valuation.
  • Operational Transparency – Provide a clear history of all manual or system-driven adjustments for audit purposes.

Checkbox Functionality

Checkbox FieldPurpose
Available Despite DamageIndicates whether the adjusted quantity, even though damaged, should still be considered available for use. This is useful when damaged items can still be sold at a discount, repurposed, or reworked.

Example Use Case

  • Scenario: During a monthly cycle count, a warehouse team finds that 10 units of an item are damaged but still usable for discounted sale.
  • Action:
    • They create an Inventory Adjustment record.
    • Enter Quantity Adjusted as 10 units.
    • Select Type = Damage.
    • Check Available Despite Damage to indicate these 10 units remain available for fulfillment (at a discounted price).
    • Add a note in Remarks/Notes explaining the damage and next steps.

This process ensures stock numbers remain correct without excluding damaged-but-sellable items from availability.
