Price List
The Price List object in Cloudy Business Ops 360 is used to group and organize pricing information for items and item variants under a single, manageable list. Price Lists serve as the foundation for applying prices to different customer groups, regions, or scenarios, enabling flexible pricing strategies across your business operations.
Price Lists can be associated with Accounts, Legal Entities, or Transaction Types, ensuring that the right price is applied automatically during quoting, ordering, and invoicing processes.
Use of Price List in Cloudy Business Ops 360
The Price List object helps businesses to:
- Maintain Multiple Pricing Structures: Support retail, wholesale, distributor, or region-specific price lists.
- Automate Price Selection: Automatically apply correct prices when creating quotes, orders, or invoices for a customer.
- Control Price List Validity: Activate or deactivate price lists based on business needs.
- Centralize Pricing: Provide a single source of truth for item pricing across the organization.
Checkbox Functionality
Checkbox Field | Purpose |
Active? | Indicates whether this Price List is currently active and available for use in transactions. Inactive price lists will not be applied during quoting or ordering. |
Effective Date (if configured as checkbox) | When checked, signifies that the Price List is currently effective (used as a quick flag rather than a specific date range). |
Example Business Scenario
Scenario:
You create two Price Lists for Item A:
- Retail Price List (Active, Effective Date = ✅) → Sell Price = $100
- Wholesale Price List (Inactive) → Sell Price = $85
Outcome:
When a sales rep creates a quote for a retail customer, the system uses the Retail Price List because it is active and effective. The Wholesale Price List is ignored until it is activated.
